Thousands protest in Vienna against the Israeli aggression on Gaza
Thousands of people gathered in Vienna on Saturday to protest against the Israeli attacks on Gaza, in one of the largest demonstrations the Austrian capital has seen since the outbreak of the conflict. The event was organized by the Palestinian community in Austria in cooperation with around 70 institutions, unions, activist organizations, civil society groups, and charities, in addition to the State of Palestine mission in Austria.
Protesters marched towards the Austrian Parliament, carrying Palestinian flags and chanting slogans such as "Stop the genocide", "Free Palestine", and "Boycott Israel". They also held banners condemning the war on Gaza as genocide and demanded an end to the occupation, the achievement of freedom and independence, and international recognition of Palestine.
The organizers clarified that this large crowd reflects a significant shift in public opinion in Austria and Europe regarding the Palestinian issue. They highlighted the increasing solidarity with Gaza and the rising demands to stop the violence immediately and hold those responsible for the crimes accountable.
Protesters highlighted the humanitarian crisis in Palestine, urging the international community to urgently protect civilians in Gaza. They warned that global silence regarding these atrocities is no longer acceptable and called for immediate intervention to end the bloodshed.
The demonstration was described as a "cry of human conscience" from the heart of Vienna, emphasizing that the Palestinian issue is no longer a distant matter, but has become a prominent focus in European public discourse. The protests delivered a clear message to decision-makers about the urgent need to address the crisis in Gaza.
