Saudi Arabia achieves a global digital milestone as internet penetration reaches 99.6%
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has achieved a qualitative leap in digital transformation, with the internet penetration rate among the population reaching 99.6%. This achievement reflects the significant development in the Kingdom's telecommunications and technology infrastructure, placing it among the world's leading nations in this sector.
Recent data showed a notable increase in the average per capita data consumption, which has reached 53 gigabytes per month. This significant growth is attributed to the increased reliance on digital services in daily life and the expansion of 5G network coverage across various cities and regions of the Kingdom.
These figures directly contribute to supporting the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to build an integrated digital society that relies on technology to boost the economy and facilitate government and private services. Furthermore, this widespread internet access opens new horizons for innovation in the fields of remote education, e-commerce, and digital financial services.
In conclusion, these indicators reflect the success of national efforts to promote digital inclusion and ensure that all members of society have access to high-quality internet services. The Kingdom continues its technological investments to ensure the sustainability of this digital growth and to develop it in a way that serves the aspirations of citizens and residents.
