King Abdulaziz: The Founder of the Modern Saudi State and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques
King Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God rest his soul, is considered the true founder of the modern Saudi state. He laid the strong foundations upon which the Kingdom was built and worked to unify the country under a single banner, which led to achieving stability and growth in various fields.
The Two Holy Mosques received special and direct attention from King Abdulaziz from the beginning of his reign. The founder realized the importance of Makkah and Madinah, not only for the Kingdom but for the entire Islamic world, and began implementing ambitious plans to develop them.
His efforts at that time included extensive expansion operations for the holy mosques, in addition to restoring historical buildings and improving the services provided to pilgrims and Umrah performers. These steps aimed to ensure the comfort and safety of the guests of God who arrive from everywhere.
King Abdulaziz's vision was not limited to the urban aspect only, but also included organizing Hajj affairs and providing security and safety on all roads leading to the holy sites. In doing so, he laid the cornerstone for the advanced services that the Kingdom witnesses today in serving pilgrims.
The memory of King Abdulaziz remains present in the conscience of the Saudi people, as the Kingdom continues to follow his approach in caring for and developing the Two Holy Mosques, so that the Kingdom may always remain a safe and distinguished destination for all Muslims in the world.
