Health Reports: The blockade imposed on Sanaa Airport affects the lives of thousands of patients
The Ministry of Health in Sanaa reported that the ongoing blockade imposed on the airport has led to serious humanitarian repercussions, as it has deprived approximately 200,000 patients of obtaining necessary treatment abroad.
Reports issued by the ministry indicated that this situation has exacerbated the suffering of those with chronic diseases, resulting in the death of about 28,000 cancer patients due to their inability to travel to receive specialized medical care.
The health sector in the region faces significant challenges in providing essential medicines and medical supplies, especially with the restrictions imposed on air traffic, which serves as a vital lifeline for transporting critical cases.
These figures highlight the ongoing humanitarian crisis, as health officials demand the necessity of opening the airport to facilitate the arrival of medical aid and enable patients to receive treatment abroad to save their lives.
