S&P: Saudi Economy is the Most Resilient in the Region
Global agency Standard & Poor's has issued a recent report detailing the performance of Gulf economies in light of current regional tensions. The report confirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was the economy least affected by the repercussions of the Iranian war compared to the rest of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
This economic resilience is mainly attributed to the diversified economic base that the Kingdom possesses. Economic reform plans under Saudi Vision 2030 have contributed to reducing reliance on a single sector, which has enhanced the country's ability to withstand geopolitical fluctuations in the region.
Analysts at the agency pointed out that the diversification strategy followed by the Kingdom has provided additional protection for local markets. This diversity does not only include the energy sector, but extends to investments in technology, tourism, and non-oil industries, making the Saudi economy more flexible and stable.
These estimates reflect the confidence of international institutions in the robustness of the Saudi economy and its ability to grow despite surrounding challenges. The Kingdom continues to strengthen its position as a regional and global economic hub, with a focus on sustainable growth and the development of vital sectors to ensure a strong economic future.
