Iraqi government opens investigation into drone attack targeting the Kingdom
The Iraqi Prime Minister issued official directives today, Monday, to launch an urgent investigation into the incident involving a drone attack on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which preliminary reports suggest was launched from within Iraqi territory.
This step comes as part of the Iraqi government's commitment to uncover the circumstances of the incident and identify those responsible for this act. Iraqi authorities affirmed their commitment to pursuing the investigations thoroughly to ensure border security and prevent the use of Iraqi territory for any activities that threaten the security of neighboring countries.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia places great importance on its security and stability and works continuously with its partners in the region to ensure the protection of its territories from any external threats. The Iraqi decision has been widely welcomed as a positive step toward strengthening security cooperation between the two countries.
The results of the investigation are expected to reveal additional details in the coming days regarding the source of the drone and the party behind its launch. Relevant authorities in both countries continue to coordinate jointly to ensure regional stability and prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future.
