Lucid Motors Strengthens the Electric Vehicle Industry in Saudi Arabia and Provides New Job Opportunities
Lucid Motors, the electric vehicle company, has announced ambitious plans to produce a new mid-size vehicle platform in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A company executive stated that producing these vehicles locally will significantly contribute to creating new job opportunities for Saudi youth in various technical and engineering fields. Furthermore, this project will help bring the latest global technologies to Saudi factories, thereby raising the level of local expertise in this advanced sector.
These developments come as a continuation of a significant agreement signed by the Saudi government with Lucid in April 2022. Under this agreement, the Kingdom committed to purchasing up to 100,000 electric vehicles over ten years to support the transition toward clean energy and reduce carbon emissions.
This initiative is considered an essential part of "Saudi Vision 2030," which seeks to diversify national income sources and reduce dependence on oil. Lucid is expected to play a pivotal role in transforming the Kingdom into a global destination for the eco-friendly automotive industry, enhancing the Saudi economy's position on the international map.
