GCC condemns Houthi attack and reaffirms security of the Kingdom
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has strongly condemned the recent attack launched by the Houthi group towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This condemnation comes within the framework of the Council member states' commitment to maintaining the security and stability of the region, and their rejection of any aggression that threatens the integrity of Saudi territory.
For its part, the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen announced that its forces successfully intercepted and destroyed the ballistic missiles launched by the group. The Coalition emphasized that these defensive operations are primarily aimed at protecting civilians and vital areas from ongoing threats.
Member states of the GCC stressed the necessity of taking a firm international stance to deter these attacks. Official statements affirmed that the continuation of these hostile acts hinders peace efforts and increases tensions in the region, which requires international solidarity to ensure they are not repeated.
