Deaths and injuries among pilgrims in a traffic accident near Al-Jumum city
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday that a tragic traffic accident occurred involving a bus carrying Egyptian pilgrims near the city of Al-Jumum in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The ministry confirmed in an official statement the death of two Egyptian pilgrims as a result of the accident, while 25 others sustained various injuries. Medical reports indicated that 7 of the injured are in critical condition and are currently receiving the necessary medical care in intensive care units.
The Egyptian Consulate in Jeddah is coordinating with the competent Saudi authorities to follow up on the details of the accident, provide all forms of support to the injured, and finalize the procedures for transporting the bodies of the deceased to Egypt.
The relevant authorities express their sincere condolences to the families of the victims and confirm that they will continue to closely monitor the health status of the injured until their recovery, while providing all necessary facilities for them in Saudi hospitals.
