SAAK International boosts local defense manufacturing in the Kingdom in line with Vision 2030
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues its significant efforts to develop the military industries sector, as SAAK International has announced new steps aimed at enhancing the localization of defense electronics within the Kingdom. This initiative comes as part of supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to reduce reliance on foreign imports in this vital sector.
SAAK International specializes in the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of sensitive electronic systems. Through this move, the company aims to build an advanced technical base that contributes to the sustainability of defense equipment, thereby enhancing national capabilities in handling advanced military technology locally.
These efforts are considered part of a broader strategy adopted by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) in the Kingdom, which aims to localize more than 50% of military spending by 2030. These projects contribute to creating new job opportunities for Saudi youth in the fields of engineering and technology, in addition to transferring international knowledge and expertise into the country.
It is expected that these steps will contribute to strengthening national security and developing the Kingdom's industrial infrastructure. As national companies continue to expand the scope of their operations, Saudi Arabia is moving steadily toward achieving self-sufficiency in many precision defense industries, which cements the Kingdom's position as a leading regional hub in the field of military industries and technology.
