Qatar condemns attacks on oil tankers and reaffirms its support for Saudi Arabia and the UAE
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the attacks that targeted oil tankers in the Arabian Gulf region, specifically in the Strait of Hormuz. This official stance came in a statement issued on Tuesday, in which Doha expressed its categorical rejection of any acts that threaten the security of international navigation and the safety of global energy supplies.
The statement issued by the Qatari Foreign Ministry affirmed the State of Qatar's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in the face of these security challenges. The Ministry emphasized the importance of maintaining stability in the region, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities to ensure the security of vital waterways.
These statements come at a time when the region is witnessing increasing tensions related to maritime navigation security. These waterways are considered a major artery for transporting oil and gas to global markets, making their stability a top priority for the countries of the region and the entire world.
In concluding its statement, Qatar renewed its call for all concerned parties to exercise restraint and work towards de-escalating the situation. Doha affirmed that dialogue and international cooperation are the only way to resolve disputes and ensure the security and stability of the Arabian Gulf region.
