Ministry of Health: Closure of Sana'a Airport threatens the lives of thousands of patients
The Ministry of Health in Sana'a has announced serious humanitarian repercussions resulting from the continued closure of Sana'a International Airport to flights. The Ministry explained that this blockade imposed on the airport has caused great suffering for citizens who need to travel to receive medical treatment abroad.
Official reports issued by the Ministry stated that the closure of the airport has led to the deaths of approximately 60,000 patients over the past years. The Ministry noted that these patients were unable to obtain the necessary medical care because they were unable to leave the country to receive treatment at specialized medical centers.
The Ministry also warned that the lives of more than 120,000 other patients are now in real danger. It emphasized that these patients are suffering from critical health conditions that require urgent medical intervention outside the country, making the continued closure of the airport a direct threat to their lives.
These statements come in light of international humanitarian demands for the necessity of opening the airport and facilitating air traffic to alleviate the suffering of civilians. Humanitarian organizations emphasize that providing safe corridors for medical travel is an urgent necessity to save the lives of thousands of patients under the current circumstances.
