Ministry of Health: Closure of Sana'a Airport threatens the lives of thousands of patients
The Ministry of Health in Sana'a has announced serious humanitarian repercussions resulting from the continued closure of Sana'a International Airport to air traffic. The Ministry explained that this closure has led to a deterioration in the health conditions of thousands of citizens who need to travel abroad for medical treatment.
Official reports issued by the Ministry stated that the airport's closure has caused the death of approximately 60,000 patients over the past years. The Ministry noted that these patients were unable to obtain the specialized medical care that is only available in hospitals outside the country.
The Ministry also warned that the lives of more than 120,000 other patients are in real danger. It emphasized that these patients suffer from chronic diseases and critical health conditions that require urgent medical intervention, which cannot be provided under current circumstances.
These figures highlight the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Yemen, as the disruption of the airport directly affects the arrival of medical aid and essential medicines. Health authorities are demanding the reopening of the airport to alleviate the suffering of patients and ensure their right to receive necessary treatment.
