Public Health Authority 'Weqaya' Warns Saudi Travelers of Infectious Diseases Abroad
The Public Health Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, known as "Weqaya," has issued a new warning for citizens wishing to travel abroad. The authority urged travelers to adhere to health and preventive guidelines to avoid contracting infectious diseases prevalent in some countries.
The warning focused specifically on certain countries experiencing outbreaks of dangerous viruses such as "Ebola" and "Hantavirus." The authority explained that these diseases require extreme caution and the following of strict preventive measures to ensure the safety of citizens while they are outside the Kingdom and to reduce the chances of transmission upon their return.
"Weqaya" advised travelers to check the health status of their intended destination well in advance of travel. It also emphasized the importance of constant handwashing, avoiding direct contact with infected individuals, and staying away from crowded places or areas known for the spread of epidemics.
This step comes as part of the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to protect public health and maintain the safety of Saudi society. Through these alerts, the authority aims to raise health awareness among citizens and ensure safe travel trips free from health risks.
