New Woodlands Hospice Opens to Support Palliative Care in Northern Singapore
A new facility, Woodlands Hospice, officially opened its doors on July 1 to provide essential support for patients requiring palliative care. Located in the northern part of Singapore, the centre aims to improve access to medical services for those living in the area.
Currently, the hospice has started operations with 16 beds available for patients. This initial phase is part of a larger strategy to ensure that residents in the north have better access to quality end-of-life care and support services close to their homes.
Looking ahead, the facility has ambitious plans to expand its capacity significantly. The management intends to increase the number of beds to 70 in the future, which will allow the hospice to serve a much larger number of patients and their families.
This development is a key step in strengthening Singapore’s healthcare infrastructure. By expanding palliative care services, the government and healthcare providers hope to meet the growing needs of the community and provide comfort to patients during their most difficult times.
