Tree Falls on Two Cars in Dempsey Area; Driver Rescued by Staff
A large tree fell onto two vehicles in the Dempsey area of Singapore on Tuesday, causing significant damage and trapping a driver inside his car. The incident occurred during the day, catching motorists by surprise as the tree collapsed onto the road.
One of the vehicles involved was a private hire multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). The impact left the driver unable to exit the car, as the branches and trunk blocked the doors. Fortunately, employees from a nearby spa witnessed the accident and immediately rushed to the scene to provide assistance.
Thanks to the quick actions of the spa staff, the driver was safely freed from the wreckage before emergency services arrived. Local authorities have since cleared the debris from the road to ensure the safety of other drivers in the area.
While the incident caused a temporary disruption to traffic in the popular dining and lifestyle district, no serious injuries were reported. Investigations into why the tree fell are currently underway, as the authorities continue to monitor the safety of trees in public spaces across Singapore.
