Man Charged After Traffic Accident Reveals Illegal Vaporiser Pods
A 31-year-old man in Singapore is facing legal charges after being found in possession of a large number of illegal vaporiser products. The man, identified as Jovan Tan, was involved in a traffic accident on August 10, which led authorities to discover the prohibited items inside his vehicle.
Following the accident, police officers searched the vehicle and discovered two vaporisers along with 94 vaporiser pods. These items are strictly regulated in Singapore, where the purchase, use, and possession of e-vaporisers are illegal under the Tobacco (Control of Advertisements and Sale) Act.
In addition to the possession of the pods, authorities conducted drug-related testing on the driver. Reports indicate that Jovan Tan tested positive for controlled substances following the incident. This has led to further investigations regarding his conduct and the nature of the items found in his car.
The case highlights the ongoing efforts by Singaporean authorities to curb the distribution and use of illicit vaping products. The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) and the police continue to monitor the illegal trade of these devices to ensure public health and safety standards are maintained.
Jovan Tan is currently facing charges related to the alleged trafficking of the vaporiser pods. He will remain under legal scrutiny as the court process continues to determine the outcome of these charges.
