Over 200 Illegal Vape Pods Seized During Anti-Loanshark Operation in Singapore
Singapore authorities recently conducted an islandwide operation targeting illegal loansharking activities. During these raids, police officers discovered and seized more than 200 vape pods containing etomidate, a controlled substance.
Etomidate is a strong sedative that is legally used in hospitals for anesthesia. However, it is not approved for use in consumer products like vape pods. Health experts have warned that using this substance outside of a medical setting can lead to serious health risks, including loss of consciousness and addiction.
In total, 11 individuals were arrested during the operation. Among those detained, a 27-year-old man has been formally charged. The authorities are currently investigating the connection between the illegal vape products and the loansharking activities discovered during the raids.
