Air Quality Drops to Unhealthy Levels in Central Singapore
Residents in central Singapore are being advised to take precautions as air quality levels have recently worsened. On Tuesday afternoon, the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) in the central region reached 102 at 1pm, officially entering the 'unhealthy' range.
By 2pm, the air quality continued to decline, with the PSI reading rising to 105. The National Environment Agency (NEA) categorizes readings between 101 and 200 as unhealthy, which may lead to mild health symptoms for sensitive individuals.
Health experts suggest that people in the affected areas should reduce strenuous outdoor physical activities. Those with pre-existing heart or respiratory conditions are encouraged to stay indoors and monitor their health closely during this period.
Authorities are continuing to monitor the air quality closely across the island. Residents are encouraged to check the official NEA website or the myENV mobile application for the latest updates and health advisories before heading outdoors.
