SG Climate Rally to Host Gathering at Hong Lim Park Over Redevelopment Plans
The environmental group SG Climate Rally has announced plans to hold a public gathering at Hong Lim Park on August 16. This event is being organized in response to the government’s recent decisions regarding land redevelopment in Singapore.
The group is specifically concerned about the future of Maju Forest and the Gillman Barracks area. Both locations have been identified for potential redevelopment, which has sparked discussions among local environmentalists about the impact on Singapore’s green spaces.
SG Climate Rally aims to use this gathering to voice concerns about how these development plans might affect the local ecosystem. The group encourages members of the public who are interested in environmental conservation to attend and participate in the conversation.
As the date approaches, the organizers are expected to share more details about the event's schedule and the specific goals they hope to achieve. This gathering highlights the ongoing balance between urban development and the preservation of nature in Singapore.
