Singapore and Brunei Launch New Air Force Exercise to Strengthen Ties
The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) officially launched a new joint military exercise called 'Exercise Vanguard' on 1 October 2026. This event marks a significant milestone in the long-standing defence relationship between the two nations.
This year is particularly important as it celebrates 50 years of close defence cooperation between Singapore and Brunei. The new exercise is designed to improve the working relationship between the two air forces and allow them to share professional knowledge and skills.
By participating in Exercise Vanguard, both air forces aim to strengthen their operational readiness and mutual understanding. These joint activities help ensure that both countries can work together effectively to maintain regional stability and security.
This partnership highlights the deep trust and friendship that has grown between Singapore and Brunei over the last five decades. As both nations continue to face modern security challenges, such collaborative efforts remain vital for long-term peace in the region.
