KKH and MUIS Awarded for Innovative Support Program for Muslim Families
A collaborative project between KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) and the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) has received a prestigious top healthcare award. The initiative, known as Project ARIF, was recognized for its unique approach to supporting young Muslim couples as they transition from marriage to parenthood.
Project ARIF provides essential maternal and child health guidance by combining medical expertise with faith-based support. By integrating religious values into health education, the program helps families feel more comfortable and confident when seeking professional medical advice during pregnancy and early childhood.
Since its launch, the program has successfully reached and benefited over 12,000 individuals across Singapore. The project aims to improve health outcomes for both mothers and children by ensuring that families have access to culturally sensitive information and resources.
This award highlights the importance of community partnerships in the healthcare sector. By working together, KKH and MUIS have created a supportive environment that addresses the specific needs of the Muslim community, helping to build stronger and healthier families in Singapore.
