Zimbabwe Government Warns Against Illegal 'Sabhuku' Land Deals

They reminded citizens that a valid 'offer letter' from the Ministry is the only way to prove legal ownership of land.
Authorities are concerned that many people are being cheated out of their savings. Because these 'Sabhuku Deals' are not recognized by the state, those who buy land this way have no legal protection. In many cases, the government may reclaim the land, which means the buyers could lose both their money and their homes.
