President Ramaphosa Appoints Stella Ndabeni as Acting Health Minister
President Cyril Ramaphosa has officially announced the appointment of Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams as the Acting Minister of Health. She will take on these new responsibilities while continuing her current role as the Minister of Small Business Development.
This appointment comes as part of a temporary adjustment within the national cabinet. The President’s office confirmed the decision this week, though no specific reason was provided for the temporary change in the health portfolio.
Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams is a well-known figure in the South African government. As the Minister of Small Business Development, she has focused on supporting local entrepreneurs and growing the economy. Her new role will require her to oversee the country's public health sector during this interim period.
The Department of Health remains a critical part of the government, managing public hospitals and national health policies. Citizens are waiting to see how this leadership change will affect ongoing health initiatives and service delivery across the country.
Government officials have not yet stated how long this acting appointment will last. For now, the administration continues to manage its daily operations while ensuring that all ministerial duties are fulfilled.
