New Partnership Aims to Improve Mathematics Skills in South Africa
Primedia Cares has officially announced a new partnership with the Shaya Izibalo Maths Institute. This collaboration is designed to address the ongoing mathematics crisis in South Africa, where many students struggle to reach the required standards in STEM subjects.
Mathematics is a critical subject for future career opportunities, particularly in fields like engineering, technology, and finance. However, national assessments have frequently shown that many South African learners face significant challenges in mastering mathematical concepts. By working together, Primedia Cares and Shaya Izibalo hope to provide better resources and support for these students.
The initiative will focus on providing extra tutoring and educational materials to learners who need them most. The program aims to make mathematics more accessible and less intimidating for young people, helping them to build confidence in their problem-solving abilities.
This project is part of a broader effort to improve the quality of education across the country. By investing in better learning tools and specialized teaching support, the partners hope to see a measurable improvement in student performance over the coming years.
Education experts believe that initiatives like this are essential for the long-term economic growth of South Africa. As the country continues to develop, a strong foundation in mathematics will be vital for the next generation of workers and leaders.
