Fountain in Front of the Bank of Korea in Seoul to Be Relocated… New Plaza to Be Created in Its Place
The fountain in front of the Bank of Korea, one of Seoul's iconic landmarks, is scheduled to be relocated. The Bank of Korea has announced plans to transform the space in front of its headquarters into an open plaza for the public.
This decision is being carried out in conjunction with the reconstruction project of the Bank of Korea's headquarters. The existing fountain will be dismantled and moved to another location, and the site will be transformed into an open space where citizens can freely rest and interact.
Through the creation of this plaza, the Bank of Korea expects to return the previously closed-off space to the public and provide a new cultural resting place in the heart of Seoul. Meanwhile, the Bank of Korea is also strengthening communication with the private sector, such as by appointing external experts as honorary directors to actively reflect the opinions of small business owners and the local commercial district. This plaza construction project is also planned to be carried out with consideration for the opinions of citizens.
