"Korea is safe and full of opportunities" – Top Vietnamese student chooses KAIST
Recently, a gifted high school student who ranked first nationwide in Vietnam's university entrance exam has made headlines for choosing KAIST in South Korea over prestigious universities in the United States. With exceptional skills, including a perfect score on the SAT, her decision has drawn significant attention.
The student at the center of the story is Nguyen Thi Giang from Vietnam. Although her grades were high enough to receive admission offers from prestigious universities in multiple countries, she ultimately decided to study in Korea. In a media interview, she explained her choice, stating, "Korea is very safe with excellent public security, and it is a country with many opportunities to study my major, science and technology."
Giang's decision is a clear example of the rising global status of Korean universities. In particular, KAIST is emerging as an attractive option for outstanding international talent by providing world-class research facilities and educational environments. Korea's advanced technological capabilities and educational systems are gaining recognition in the global market.
The Korean government and universities plan to continue attracting more excellent international students like Giang. Having such talent study and grow in Korea significantly contributes to the country's scientific and technological advancement as well as international exchange. It is expected that more global prodigies will choose Korea as a premier destination for their studies in the future.
