Safety Advisory Issued for East Coast Beaches Amid Late Summer Heat
Despite the recent official closure of beaches along the East Coast, many citizens continue to visit the sea, raising concerns about safety accidents. As accidents have continued to occur even after the beaches have closed, extra caution is required.
According to relevant authorities, a total of 15 water-related accidents have occurred in less than a month since the East Coast beaches closed this year. These accidents have unfortunately led to a series of casualties, including four fatalities.
One of the main reasons for the ongoing accidents is the late summer heat that has persisted until mid-September. With hot weather continuing as daytime temperatures approach 30 degrees Celsius, it is analyzed that more vacationers are entering the water after closing when there are no lifeguards on duty.
At closed beaches where lifeguards are not stationed, rescue operations are extremely difficult in the event of an accident. Furthermore, being swept away by sudden waves or deep currents can lead to life-threatening situations.
Therefore, citizens should refrain from swimming in areas without lifeguards. While enjoying a pleasant break is important, we urge everyone to prioritize safety above all else and actively participate in preventing accidents.
