Nigerian Doctor Balla Labo Learns from South Korea's Public Health System
Balla Labo, a doctor from Nigeria, has visited South Korea to learn from its advanced public health system. He stated that seeing Korea's clean streets and systematic health environment made him realize once again the importance of preventive medicine.
Mr. Labo has been working for the health of his local community by running a maternal and child health foundation in his home country of Nigeria. He decided to study in Korea at his father's suggestion, and he expressed his ambition to learn Korea's efficient health policies and apply them to his home country.
He evaluated that South Korea's public health system plays a significant role in protecting the health of millions of people. He was particularly impressed by the fact that preventive medicine goes beyond simply treating illnesses and begins with creating a clean environment.
Mr. Labo intends to contribute to improving Nigeria's health policies based on the experience he gains from studying in Korea. This is a case that shows how Korea's health system serves as a good model for developing countries.
