Safety Advisory for East Coast Beaches Amid Late Summer Heat
It has been less than a month since the beaches on the East Coast officially closed for the season. However, with the late summer heat continuing until recently, many citizens are still visiting the sea. Under these circumstances, extra caution regarding safety management is required.
Recently, a total of 15 water-related accidents have occurred on the East Coast even after the beaches were closed. These accidents have unfortunately led to casualties, including four deaths. The belief that the vacation season is over leads people to enter the water where there are no lifeguards, which is becoming a cause of danger.
Despite it being mid-September, the unusual late heatwave continues, with daytime temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees Celsius. Because of the high temperatures, many people are still visiting the beaches to enjoy water activities. However, it is very difficult to respond to accidents at beaches where lifeguards are not stationed.
Experts warn that swimming at closed beaches is extremely dangerous. When entering the sea, one must follow safety rules, and it is advised to refrain from water activities as much as possible. For the safety of citizens, local governments and relevant authorities are also strengthening public awareness campaigns and patrols to prevent accidents.
