KAIST and ETRI Unveil Cutting-Edge AI Technologies at ‘Korea Electronics Show’
At the recently held ‘Korea Electronics Show (KES 2024)’ in Seoul, the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) showcased their latest artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. This exhibition is Korea’s premier electronics and IT industry event, serving as a platform where numerous companies and research institutions gather to share future technologies.
KAIST and ETRI introduced a variety of innovative technologies utilizing AI at this event. One technology that drew particular attention was ‘Video Coding Technology for AI.’ This technology helps process high-definition video faster by compressing and transmitting video data more efficiently.
Furthermore, ‘AI-based Photorealistic Multi-Person 3D Human Generation and Free-Viewpoint Reconstruction Technology’ also received significant interest from visitors. This technology vividly renders multiple people in 3D and allows users to view the video freely from any desired angle. It is expected to be useful in the future metaverse and immersive content industries.
Finally, ‘Generative AI-based Pre-visualization Video Production Support Technology’ was also unveiled. This technology helps creators preview complex videos during the film or advertising production process, which is expected to significantly reduce production time and costs.
Through this exhibition, it was confirmed that the level of AI technology in Korea has advanced even further. Experts assessed that these technologies will bring significant changes to our daily lives and the industry as a whole in the future.
