Social Safety, Art, and News from Nature: Today's News Briefing
Recent news of a digital crime occurring in schools in Busan has caused a great shock. An incident occurred where a man in his 30s, who was responsible for managing school computer equipment, stole personal information from faculty members and used it for criminal purposes. While performing his duties of inspecting school computers, the man secretly accessed the faculty members' cloud accounts.
According to the police investigation, the man extracted photos of faculty members from 19 elementary, middle, and high schools in the Busan area between 2021 and 2025. It was revealed that he used the photos obtained in this manner to create 'deepfake' videos. In response, teachers in the Busan area have pointed out security issues within schools and are demanding severe punishment for the perpetrator.
Next is news from the art world. 'Anselm,' a documentary film capturing the artistic world of world-renowned contemporary art master Anselm Kiefer, is coming to audiences. Directed by the famous filmmaker Wim Wenders, the film provides an in-depth look at Anselm Kiefer's 50-year artistic journey.
Anselm Kiefer is well known as an artist who sends a strong message to society by using Germany's dark past as a theme for his work. In the film, viewers can vividly experience his massive studio, spanning 250,000 pyeong (approximately 200 acres), and the unique creative processes that take place there. His efforts to remember history through art are well-captured in the film.
