Seoul Metropolitan Council Holds Opening Ceremony for the 4th Youth Council
The Seoul Metropolitan Council held the opening ceremony for the 4th Youth Council at the council's main chamber on the 22nd. This event was organized to allow youth to experience parliamentary activities firsthand and learn about democracy.
The 4th Youth Council is composed of members elected through a vote by their peers. Moving forward, they will propose policies related to youth in Seoul and gain direct experience in the parliamentary operation process.
Lim Man-kyun, Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, attended the opening ceremony to encourage the youth council members. Chairman Lim expressed his hope that through these activities, the youth will take an interest in social issues and grow into mature citizens.
In the future, the youth council members are scheduled to carry out legislative activities in a manner similar to the actual council through plenary sessions and standing committee activities. Their efforts are expected to have a positive impact on the development of youth policies in Seoul.
