Government to Significantly Increase Youth Support Budget to 43 Trillion Won Next Year
The South Korean government has decided to significantly increase the budget for youth support in next year's budget proposal. According to the plan announced by the government, the total budget related to youth for next year has been set at 43.3 trillion won. This is an increase of approximately 53.5% from this year's budget of 28.2 trillion won.
This budget expansion was prepared to help young people experiencing economic difficulties achieve self-reliance and to support them in settling down stably in society. The government has prioritized addressing youth employment issues, housing stability, and the improvement of welfare.
Specifically, the plan is expected to include educational programs to strengthen the employment capabilities of young people and asset-building support for those employed at small and medium-sized enterprises. In addition, various financial support measures to reduce the burden of housing costs are also being discussed.
A government official stated that they hope this budget proposal will provide practical help to young people. Once the budget is finalized by the National Assembly, it is expected that more young people will be able to receive government support benefits starting next year.
