Diverse cultural events to be held nationwide to mark the 100th anniversary of Hangeul Day
October 9th marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Hangeul Day. To commemorate this, a variety of cultural and artistic events are being prepared across the country to reflect on the importance of our alphabet, Hangeul.
These events have been designed for the whole family to enjoy together. In particular, centered around the National Hangeul Museum, over 20 types of rich experiential spaces will be provided, including a children's Hangeul playground, calligraphy exhibitions and workshops, and a Hangeul garden.
In addition, Hangeul experience programs in which citizens can directly participate will also be operated. Participants are expected to have a meaningful time experiencing the beauty of Hangeul firsthand and learning about the history and value of our alphabet.
This 100th-anniversary commemorative event will serve as an opportunity to promote the excellence of Hangeul and foster communication between generations. Interested citizens can check the detailed event schedule and how to participate through the websites of relevant organizations.
