Anseong Police Station in Gyeonggi Province Requests Arrest Warrant for Man in His 20s on Charges of Illegal Filming
The Anseong Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced that it has requested an arrest warrant for a 28-year-old office worker surnamed Kang on charges of illegally filming parts of women's bodies (violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes).
According to the police investigation, Kang is accused of using a camera to film parts of women's bodies without their consent in public places and other locations. The investigation began following a report from a citizen who became aware of the illicit activity, and the police have seized Kang's mobile phone and are currently conducting digital forensic analysis.
A police official explained that Kang has admitted to some of the charges and that they are investigating further potential offenses to determine if there are additional victims. The official added that they plan to respond sternly, as illegal filming is a serious crime.
With illegal filming crimes using digital devices emerging as a significant social issue, this case is drawing attention as it is directly linked to the safety of citizens.
