Seoul Metropolitan Council Holds Opening Ceremony for the 4th Youth Council
The Seoul Metropolitan Council announced that it successfully held the opening ceremony for the 4th Youth Council at the council's plenary chamber on the 22nd. This event was organized to provide youth with the opportunity to experience direct democracy and participate in legislative activities.
The 4th Youth Council is composed of members elected through a direct vote by their peers. Moving forward, the students will propose youth-related policies, experience the parliamentary process firsthand, and spend time contemplating the development of their local community.
Lim Man-kyun, Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, congratulated the youth representatives on their election during the opening ceremony and emphasized that he would actively support the integration of the youth's innovative ideas into Seoul's policies. He also expressed his hope that the youth would grow into mature citizens through these activities.
The youth representatives plan to discuss policies in various fields, such as youth education, welfare, and the environment, through regular meetings. Their activities are expected to serve as an important educational venue for the future generation to take an interest in local community issues and seek solutions.
