People Power Party Calls for Dismissal of Policy Chief Kim Yong-beom… “Must Take Responsibility for Economic Policy Failures”
People Power Party Floor Leader Jung Chung-rae strongly demanded the resignation of Policy Chief Kim Yong-beom on the 7th. Floor Leader Jung argued that the cause of the current worsening economic situation lies in the policy chief's flawed judgment and urged the President to dismiss him immediately.
During a press conference, Floor Leader Jung harshly criticized Kim, labeling him the “Policy Failure Chief.” He pointed out that the economic policies introduced by the policy team led by Kim have not only failed to achieve tangible results but have actually had a negative impact on the Korean economy.
Furthermore, Floor Leader Jung claimed that Kim is playing a role like a “villain,” exacerbating the difficulties of the Korean economy. He emphasized that for the government to overcome the economic crisis, it must replace the official in charge of policy to create a new atmosphere.
This demand appears to be an expression of the opposition party's strong dissatisfaction with the government's policy direction amidst the difficult economic situation, including recent inflation and economic stagnation.
