The Era of Climate Crisis: Environmental Changes and Response Challenges in South Korea
As climate change has become increasingly severe worldwide, interest in environmental issues has also been rising within South Korean society. In particular, with record-breaking heat continuing this year, there is a growing consensus that the climate crisis is having a direct impact on our daily lives.
Weather experts analyze that the climate patterns of the past, characterized by recurring El Niño and La Niña phenomena, are changing. Even though this year is in a 'neutral' state where neither phenomenon is occurring, seasonal changes are manifesting differently than before, such as the emergence of record-breaking heat waves.
These climate changes go beyond simple weather issues, posing new challenges across the economy and industry as a whole. Companies are strengthening eco-friendly management, and the government and civil society are in agreement that more proactive climate action is necessary.
In conclusion, the climate crisis has become a critical social task that can no longer be delayed. All eyes are on how South Korean society will respond to these environmental changes and prepare for a sustainable future.
