Dongdaejeon Library Hosts Exhibition of Imaginary Creatures from Korean Mythology
A special exhibition is being held at the Dongdaejeon Library, located in Daejeon Metropolitan City. The theme of this exhibition is 'Korean Imaginary Creatures,' where visitors can encounter various animals from our nation's myths and legends through illustrations.
In the exhibition hall, visitors can appreciate artworks featuring creatures that are both familiar and mysterious to us, such as the Haetae, the White Tiger, and the Qilin. Each piece goes beyond simply depicting imaginary beings; it embodies traditional Korean values and meanings, offering a unique experience to visitors.
This exhibition was organized to introduce Korean culture and history to citizens visiting the library in an easier and more engaging way. In particular, it is expected to be a great educational opportunity for children and students to get a glimpse into the wisdom and imagination of our ancestors.
An official from Dongdaejeon Library expressed hope that many citizens would take an interest in Korean mythology through this exhibition. The exhibition is free for everyone to view during library operating hours, and detailed schedules can be found on the library's website.
