Korea University of Technology and Education Guarantees Employment Upon Admission with New 'Chungnam-style Contract Department'
Korea University of Technology and Education (KOREATECH), in collaboration with Chungcheongnam-do, is introducing a new 'Chungnam-style Contract Department' to cultivate talent tailored to local industries. This program is designed so that students are guaranteed employment upon graduation the moment they are admitted, which is expected to be a significant help in resolving the employment difficulties faced by local youth.
Contract departments are a system where universities and companies jointly operate practical, industry-focused curricula. During their studies, students learn the specialized knowledge required in corporate settings, and upon graduation, they are immediately hired by the respective companies, allowing them to begin a stable professional life.
This project is being carried out in connection with the key industrial sectors of Chungcheongnam-do. Universities and companies jointly develop the curriculum, and companies provide students with scholarships and internship opportunities. Through this, students are provided with an environment where they can reduce their tuition burden and quickly build practical competencies.
A representative from Korea University of Technology and Education stated that the establishment of this contract department will serve as an important opportunity to prevent the outflow of local talent and revitalize the regional economy. The university plans to continue producing excellent technical personnel through close cooperation with local companies in the future.
This 'Chungnam-style Contract Department' is expected to be a new opportunity for many students concerned about employment. Attention is focused on whether this attempt to connect education and employment will establish itself as a successful model for the growth of local communities, universities, and companies together.
