SK Biopharmaceuticals Accelerates New Drug Development in Partnership with Domestic Biotech Firm
SK Biopharmaceuticals has joined forces with Inventera, a domestic biotech company, to collaborate on new drug development. This partnership is interpreted as part of SK Biopharmaceuticals' strategy to invest in promising domestic biotech technologies and secure future growth engines.
At the core of this collaboration is 'INV-001,' an MRI contrast agent currently being developed by Inventera. This substance is based on 'Invinity,' Inventera's proprietary nanomedicine platform. The technology allows for clearer visualization of lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes, which have been difficult to identify with existing MRI technology.
Through this agreement, SK Biopharmaceuticals has decided to invest in Inventera alongside the acquisition of the technology for INV-001. With this, SK Biopharmaceuticals plans to expand its business scope beyond treatments for brain diseases into the diagnostic field, while fostering mutual growth within the domestic biotech ecosystem.
This investment is expected to serve as an opportunity to showcase the technological prowess of the domestic biotech industry to the world. SK Biopharmaceuticals stated that it will continue to collaborate with companies possessing innovative technologies to provide patients with better treatment and diagnostic environments.
