Prime Minister Han Duck-soo: "Central Administrative Agencies in the Capital Area to Relocate to Sejong City Starting in the First Half of Next Year"
Prime Minister Han Duck-soo has announced a plan to relocate the remaining central administrative agencies in the capital area to Sejong Special Self-Governing City starting in the first half of next year. This measure reflects the government's commitment to enhancing administrative efficiency and achieving balanced national development.
The government plans to further solidify Sejong City as the center of administration and revitalize the local economy through the relocation of public institutions to regional areas. The scope of this relocation will include major central administrative agencies that have remained in the capital area.
In addition, the government announced that it will develop the southern coast, centered around Sacheon and Jinju in Gyeongsangnam-do, into a 'Southern Coast Aerospace Industrial Belt.' The strategy is to foster this region as a core hub for South Korea's future growth engine, centered around the recently opened Korea Aerospace Administration (KASA).
Through these policies, the government intends to strengthen national competitiveness by concentrating administrative functions in Sejong while distributing high-tech industries according to regional characteristics. Much attention is now focused on the specific relocation schedules and industrial development plans to be implemented in the future.
