Corporate AI Investment Is Now Leading to Tangible Returns
According to a recent survey by global software company SAP, investments in artificial intelligence (AI) technology by companies worldwide have begun to yield significant results. Businesses have been investing substantial amounts annually to adopt AI technology, and recently, the return on that investment has improved noticeably.
This year, the average AI investment per company was approximately $28 million, which is not a significant increase compared to last year. However, the return on investment (ROI) has risen sharply from 16% last year to 21% this year. This demonstrates that companies have moved beyond the stage of using AI merely as an experimental tool and are now successfully utilizing it to enhance operational efficiency.
Experts analyze that this improvement in profitability is due to the maturation of companies' AI utilization capabilities. While the initial focus was on the adoption of AI technology itself, companies are now establishing AI strategies tailored to their specific business sectors and connecting them to the generation of actual profits.
The outlook for the future is even more positive. In this survey, the expected ROI for corporate AI investments in two years was projected to reach 38%. As AI technology advances and companies accumulate know-how in its application, AI is expected to become an essential growth engine in corporate management.
