LG Household & Health Care Partners with Korea Food Research Institute to Develop 'Longevity' Ingredients
LG Household & Health Care has announced a partnership with the Korea Food Research Institute to jointly develop 'longevity' ingredients that promote healthy aging. Through this collaboration, both organizations plan to secure core technologies necessary for the development of next-generation beauty and health-related products.
In the beauty industry, there has been significant attention recently on longevity technology, which goes beyond simple skin care to focus on maintaining a healthy biological age. LG Household & Health Care intends to utilize the professional research data and technical expertise in the food sector held by the Korea Food Research Institute to discover more effective ingredients for cosmetics and health functional foods.
Meanwhile, there is high interest in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in corporate settings. According to survey results, while the rate of AI usage for general individual tasks reaches 71%, the rate of actively adopting AI in the research and development (R&D) sector remains at only 18%.
In this context, the collaboration between LG Household & Health Care and the Korea Food Research Institute is expected to serve as an opportunity to add new technological approaches to the R&D process. Both sides stated that they will introduce innovative products that consumers can trust, based on scientific evidence.
Industry attention is focused on what changes this joint research will bring to the domestic beauty and bio industries in the future. The two organizations plan to focus on developing ingredients that are competitive in the global market through continuous technological exchange.
