IA Pushes for Standardization of 'Modular Data Centers' Tailored for the AI Era
With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the importance of data centers to support it is growing. In line with this trend, the domestic company IA announced that it is fully pushing for the standardization of modular data centers (MDC) for AI.
IA attended the 'OCP Korea Tech Day' held on the 21st and presented the opinion that a revision of current data center standards is necessary. While modular data centers are efficient because they allow space to be divided and installed as needed, the company explained that a new standard is essential to handle the high power consumption of AI servers.
During this announcement, IA unveiled its 'NeoCube' strategy, which is based on its own technological capabilities. The company plans to actually build a 25kW-capacity NeoCube in early September to verify the efficiency and stability of the data center.
This demonstration project is expected to play a significant role in improving the domestic AI infrastructure environment. IA intends to continue developing core technologies necessary for the advancement of the AI industry through ongoing standardization efforts.
