In Search of Personal Taste... Korean Overseas Travel Trends Are Changing
Recently, the overseas travel styles of Koreans have been undergoing significant changes. In the past, package tours that visited famous tourist attractions in a short period were popular, but now, an increasing number of people prefer "customized travel" that focuses on their own tastes and interests. This shift shows that travel is being perceived not just as moving from one place to another, but as a process of finding personal enjoyment.
According to travel experts, recent travelers are planning themed trips tailored to their hobbies or lifestyles. For example, those interested in cooking visit local markets and participate in cooking classes, while art lovers seek out hidden small galleries instead of large museums. Now, the purpose of travel has become more about "what you do" rather than "where you go."
In particular, travel styles such as "wellness travel," which seeks physical and mental relaxation away from busy daily life, and "living for a month," where one stays for a long time like a local, are receiving great attention. This is a result of modern people's desire to spend time for their own satisfaction rather than for showing off to others. It is about gaining new energy and having time for self-reflection through travel.
The Korean travel industry is also responding quickly to these changes. Services that use artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze individual tastes and recommend perfect travel itineraries are gaining popularity. Additionally, professional guide services that help with unique personal experiences rather than popular tourist spots are increasing. Now, travelers can easily design their own special trips with just a smartphone.
In conclusion, future travel trends are expected to become even more diverse. Instead of following the choices of others, travel centered on contemplating what one truly likes will become the focus. For this upcoming vacation, why not plan a special trip filled with your own tastes, rather than going where everyone else goes?
