KOVO imposes 5-year suspension on former coach for sexual misconduct
The Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO) has imposed a heavy disciplinary action on a former volleyball coach, identified as A, who was recently involved in a sexual misconduct case. The federation determined that this incident was an antisocial act that severely undermined the ethical standards of the sports community.
The federation's Disciplinary Committee held a meeting to discuss A's actions. The committee stated that it decided on the level of discipline by considering the gravity of the sexual misconduct committed by A and the fact that it tarnished the reputation of the volleyball community.
Ultimately, in accordance with its disciplinary regulations, the committee confirmed a heavy penalty of a '5-year suspension' for A. As a result of this decision, A is prohibited from participating in any activities organized by the Korea Volleyball Federation for the next five years.
This disciplinary action demonstrates the federation's commitment to strictly addressing sexual misconduct that may occur in the sports field. Moving forward, the Korea Volleyball Federation plans to continue its efforts to protect athletes and foster a healthy sports culture.
