Former Vice President Kim Yong Urges Supreme Court for Swift Ruling
Former Vice President of the Institute for Democracy, Kim Yong, has urged the Supreme Court to issue an immediate ruling on his trial. Kim has been on trial since 2021 after being indicted on charges of receiving illegal political funds from private developers in the Daejang-dong project.
Kim was sentenced to five years in prison in both the first and second trials. Throughout the legal proceedings, he has denied the charges and maintained his innocence, but the lower courts found him guilty.
Currently, the case is awaiting a final verdict from the Supreme Court. Kim’s side claims he is a victim of judicial injustice and is strongly demanding that the Supreme Court reach a swift decision without further delay.
This case has drawn significant public attention as it involves allegations of political funding related to the Daejang-dong development project. The impact on the political sphere is expected to be substantial, depending on the Supreme Court's decision.
Many are watching to see when the Supreme Court will deliver its final verdict and what the outcome will be. Once the judiciary makes its final judgment, the legal controversy surrounding this case is expected to come to an end.
