Democratic Party of Korea appoints Jeon Yong-gi and Kwon Mi-kyung as appointed Supreme Council members
The Democratic Party of Korea has appointed Representative Jeon Yong-gi and Chairperson Kwon Mi-kyung as new appointed Supreme Council members. This appointment is interpreted as a decision to reorganize the party's leadership and strengthen its organization.
Representative Kim Min-seok personally announced the two as appointed Supreme Council members during the last general meeting of lawmakers. The party subsequently finalized the motion for their appointment during a following meeting.
However, some figures, including Representative Jung Chung-rae, did not participate in the voting process during this decision. As opinions among key party figures remain divided, attention is focused on how this will affect the future operation of the party.
With these appointments, the leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea has established a new system. The party stated that it plans to focus on resolving public livelihood issues and fostering internal unity moving forward.
